Anyone ever accidentally destroy a gambling ticket?

I was figuring out were my little brother was on his gambling totals this for the season on the back of an envelope..part of the total was a vocher for a few hundred bucks...
So i finish totalling up .
.text my bro his totals ..made a cup of coffee.. went outside ...

Came in and noticed the fire was getting low..grabbed the envelope with the voucher sitting disgusted somehow on top threw both the envelope and vocher in the fireplace then put a log on top .

Came back to the couch realized what i'd done..still haven't said anything to my GF who's watching the Lions game with me...she'll never find out....way too boneheaded.

Almost left casino one day without cashing 4 winning tix. Was a long day on course and in casino and just zoned out.

Yea, they can get it figured out for you at the racetrack. As long as you know what race it was, what horse you bet, and of course at what track (simulcast). THey can check the tickets cashed against the tickets sold. If things line up after a certain period (can't remember how much time must elapse) they will pay you.

I've dropped a few on drunken Vagas nights pulling out cash out of a pocket..but i noticed.

I've already made the bank right..i hate withdrawing money to bet for someone else... even blood.

Ha...at hollywood park back in the day you'd have these dudes who would walk around flipping discarded tickets looking for someones lost winner..never understood it.

Figured sometimes they must find a nugget?
